Brookes offers full- and part-time internships throughout the year to college students who would like to learn about the editorial and/or marketing aspects of publishing. Description

Brookes Publishing is an educational publishing company in Towson, Maryland (just north of Baltimore). Brookes publishes highly respected books and other resources in early childhood, early intervention, inclusive and special education, developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, literacy, communication and language, behavior, and mental health.

Our titles range from graduate level textbooks, professional references, and practical handbooks to curricula, assessment tools, and family guidebooks and DVDs. We're proud of our company's independence and long commitment to delivering high quality content to the wide range of professionals who serve children with disabilities and children at risk and their families.

Job Postings

Position:
Sales & Customer Service Specialist

The experienced candidate will join our onsite call center team in:
  • providing professional, courteous, and informative customer service to our inbound callers and other customers

  • gathering complete and accurate customer and account information for the customer database

  • identifying, promoting and offering related books and other products to customers

  • maintaining a high level of product knowledge

  • accurately entering and processing phone, mail, website, and fax orders

  • collaborating with other Specialists and other Sales staff to create and implement full sales initiatives and programs

  • achieving departmental and divisional goals as they relate to the overall health and direction of the company

This position requires:

  • a bachelor's degree

  • previous call center and order entry experience

  • excellent organizational and time-management skills

  • excellent phone manner and communication skills

  • keen attention to detail

  • proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional suite programs.
