2018–2019 Inclusive Education Calendar contest official rules

This contest begins February 28, 2018 and ends on March 31, 2018. This contest is void where prohibited by law.

 

1) HOW TO ENTER

No purchase is required to enter. Complete the online form located at https://brookespublishing.com/enter-inclusive-education-calendar-contest/. In order to be eligible, all entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. EDT on March 31, 2018.

2) ELIGIBILITY

This contest is open to all legal residents of the U.S. residing in the 48 contiguous states, Alaska, Hawaii, and the District of Columbia, 18 years or older. Employees and their families, subcontractors, and authors of Brookes Publishing are not eligible. The qualifications and eligibility of any participant are at the sole discretion of Brookes Publishing and are final.

3) SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS

Twelve finalists will be selected by Brookes Publishing. From the 12 finalists, six winners will be chosen based on the most innovative and inspiring responses. All finalists and winners will be notified by phone or email during the week of April 15, 2018. All winners will be required to provide a photo of themselves with written consent from any individuals, or legal guardian of individuals who are minors, in the photograph(s)-this will grant Brookes Publishing permission to use the photos in its marketing and promotional efforts, as well as in digital and printed copies of the calendar.

4) PRIZES

Six winners will be prominently featured in the 2018—2019 “It’s More Than Just Being In” Calendar and the winning contestants will be given the opportunity to donate to the school of his/her choice a complete library of books from authors featured in the calendar.

All contest finalists will win a free copy of Cheryl Jorgensen’s new book, It’s More Than “Just Being In”: Creating Authentic Inclusion for Students with Complex Support Needs. In addition, finalist may also be featured in a post on our blog, the Brookes Inclusion Lab.

All entrants must declare on the contest entry form the name and address of the school he/she wishes to donate the library of books should the entrant be selected as one of the six winners.

Brookes Publishing may also feature winners, their photographs, and answers to their questions on our website, blog, and social media channels, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.

Finalists and winners should allow 4 to 6 weeks from conclusion of the contest for delivery of the prizes. Prizes will be shipped at no cost to the winner by the most economical shipping method. All prizes are nontransferable and are not redeemable for cash.

5) PRIVACY DISCLOSURE

Contest entrants are supplying personally identifying information (e.g., name, address) to Brookes Publishing by entering. Participation in this contest is completely voluntary, and the entrant, therefore, has a choice whether to disclose his or her information. Contest entrants’ email addresses will be used only for the purposes of communicating about the contest unless the entrant requests to receive promotional email or newsletters from Brookes Publishing. Contest entrants may receive catalogs by postal mail from Brookes Publishing following contest entry. 6) LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

If by reason of a printing or other error, more prizes are claimed than the number set forth in these official rules, all persons making purportedly valid claims will be included in a random drawing to award the advertised number of prizes. No more than the advertised number of prizes will be awarded.

Brookes Publishing reserves the right to disqualify any person who tampers with the entry process or the operation of the website or who is otherwise in violation of the rules. It further reserves the right to cancel, terminate, or modify any contest not capable of completion as planned, including by infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, or technical failure of any sort.

By entering the contest, each contest entrant assumes and agrees to be solely responsible for, all liabilities and costs arising out of his/her participation in the contest and releases Brookes Publishing and its directors, employees, and subcontractors from the same. Income and other taxes (if any) are the responsibility of the winner. Brookes Publishing is not liable for lost, late, delayed, damaged, incomplete, illegible, or misdirected contest entries of any kind, including, without limitation, malfunctioning of any network, hardware, or software, whether originating with the contest entrant or Brookes Publishing.

7) CONSTRUCTION

All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Contest Rules, or the rights and obligations of any entrants and Brookes Publishing, shall be governed by, and constructed in accordance with, the laws of the state of Maryland, without giving effect to any choice of laws or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than Maryland. In the event that any such provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, these rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provisions were not contained therein.
