Jill Aviles, M.A.
Jill Aviles, M.A., is a bilingual early childhood specialist working with Fairfax County Office for Children in Virginia. In addition to teaching child care providers, teachers, and directors in a variety of early childhood topics, she provides technical assistance in the area of emerging literacy as part of an Early Learning Opportunities Act (ELOA) grant.
Ms. Aviles uses the ELLCO in early childhood classrooms at various centers as part of the ELOA research-based evaluation. In addition, she has served on multidisciplinary teams developing an emerging literacy curriculum and self-assessment instruments. With over 22 years in the field, she has worked in domestic and international arenas and has developed, managed, and evaluated early childhood programs with diverse populations.
Ms. Aviles received her Master of Arts in curriculum development with a focus in bilingual early childhood programs from Columbia University, New York. She is fluent in Spanish and English.
