Strong Kids: A first-tier program for social and emotional learning The January 2010 Psychology in the Schools journal highlights the efforts of the Oregon Resiliency Project to enhance positive social and emotional development of children through social and emotional learning. A major contribution of this project has been the development of the Strong Kids curricula. Strong Kids is used by educators and mental health personnel as a brief and low-cost way to promote social and emotional learning. Read the article by Strong Kids developer Dr. Kenneth W. Merrell for results of several feasibility, efficacy, and effectiveness studies about Strong Kids, along with insight on lessons learned in the development of the program.
