Seminar Description

book cover
This seminar is based on two premises: one, that there’s a job for every job seeker with a disability who wants one, and two, that employers should be treated as important customers of disability employment services. The presenters have created a highly interactive training seminar, loaded with real life examples and based on direct, successful experiences assisting job seekers who have disabilities. The trainers will help participants
  • understand what employers want and expect from employment service providers

  • market proactively to businesses

  • learn practical guidelines for getting to know both job seekers and employers

  • match job seeker characteristics with employer needs

  • use the tenets of quality customer service when working with employers

  • take steps to develop non-traditional employment through customized job consultation to employers

  • discover strategies for improving job retention and promoting career advancement for people with disabilities

  • explore specific ways to make employment service programs more customer-oriented, convenient, and understandable to employers

The one-day seminar provides basic, practical strategies that participants can implement immediately. The two-day seminar goes deeper, offering both basic and advanced strategies for individual employment specialists and disability employment organizations. After either seminar, participants will be ready to deliver better results for job seekers with any disability and employers who can benefit from their skills and talents.
