Sally J. Styfco is a writer and policy analyst specializing in matters pertaining to children and families, particularly early childhood and later educational intervention. She is a noted synthesizer of the literature for policy makers, scholars, and students. Her writings span the topics of Head Start, child care, children with disabilities, federal education initiatives, child maltreatment, the effects of poverty on child development, and the historical progression of government policies in these areas. She is Associate Director of the Head Start Section at the Yale University Center in Child Development and Social Policy and a Research Associate at the Yale Psychology Department and the Yale Child Study Center.
