An integral part of the ASQ research team for more than 10 years, Ms. Twombly is Senior Research Assistant/Instructor in the University of Oregon Early Intervention Program, and co-author of ASQ:SE and Ages & Stages Learning Activities. She instructs early childhood professionals internationally from fields such as early intervention, childcare, and public health.

A popular international instructor on ASQ and ASQ:SE, Dr. Clifford has been active in the research and development of both tools. An Adjunct Assistant Professor in the University of Oregon Early Intervention Program, Dr. Clifford also brings expertise from 8 years as an early childhood educator to your professional development experience.

Get start-to-finish guidance on using the Ages & Stages Questionnaires® (ASQ) and the Ages & Stages Questionnaires®: Social-Emotional (ASQ:SE) to screen infants and young children for delays during the crucial first 5 years of life! Equally useful for new or veteran users, this thorough introductory seminar also describes use of the convenient new ASQ Materials Kit.

LEVEL: Introductory, intermediate

PREREQUISITE: None

MATERIALS REQUIRED: The ASQ User's Guide and The ASQ:SE User's Guide

MATERIALS PROVIDED: Practice forms and handouts


YOU'LL COME AWAY KNOWING HOW TO:

• Get started with ASQ and ASQ:SE: select the questionnaires, introduce the tools to parents, and use effective administration methods

• Score, interpret, and make referral decisions based on ASQ and ASQ:SE results

• Communicate screening results sensitively to families

• Understand the role of parents in the ASQ and ASQ:SE screening process, including the validity of parent report and factors that affect parents' responses

• Share information on intervention strategies to enhance child development

• Understand the benefits of developmental screening

Take your knowledge to the next level with this in-depth, step-by-step seminar—everything you need to know to instruct your colleagues in using ASQ and ASE:SE!

PREREQUISITE: Attendance at Monday or Wednesday ASQ and ASQ:SE Introduction or recent attendance at an ASQ and ASQ:SE introductory seminar. Prior familiarity with The ASQ User's Guide and The ASQ:SE User's Guide is recommended.

MATERIALS PROVIDED: Practice forms and handouts, PLUS all the materials you need to teach others everything covered in the ASQ and ASQ:SE Introduction
