Alana Schnitz, Ph.D., BCBA, is a current post-doctoral researcher at the University of Kansas Juniper Gardens Children’s Project. Alana graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Early Childhood Special Education and was a Head Start Research Scholar. She was formerly a research coordinator for the Teaching Pyramid Research Project and has done work associated with the TPOT since 2007. She has coached teachers in Head Start, child care, and public school systems to implement Pyramid Model practices. She has also worked with Head Start teachers and families providing teacher and parent trainings, technical assistance to teachers, and providing behavioral support to families.
Ms. Schnitz’s research interests are focused on supporting teachers and families to implement evidenced-based practices particularly around promoting social-emotional development and addressing challenging behavior in young children.
