LaWanda Potter, M.S., is an administrator and program manager for EC CARES, an Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education program in Lane County, Oregon. EC CARES provides services to children birth to 5 years of age, who are experiencing developmental delays or disabilities. Ms. Potter provides direction and support to referral, screening and evaluation teams, coordinates regional low-incidence disability programs, and autism services.  She serves on a leadership team providing direction and support to develop and implement strategic planning goals focused on improving services to young children and their families served by her agency.

Ms. Potter received her master’s degree from Purdue University in 1988.  She is an author of the ASQ User’s Guide and the Ages & Stages Questionnaires. She was one of the the original ASQ Outreach Project trainers, providing training and consultation on systematic use of the ASQ in 25 states.Training across the states included many diverse groups, from Native American communities to urban populations. She continues to provide training to local childcare providers and EI/ECSE personnel on implementing the ASQ in programs.
