Mellie Bukovsky-Reyes received her bachelor’s degree in Applied Arts and Science in Adapted Physical Education from San Diego State University. She has been a public education teacher in the following subjects: physical and adapted physical education as a specialist; science, and mathematics, as well as special education. Mellie is the sole proprietor of Playology Oregon Educational Consulting, and is currently a master trainer with the Oregon Center for Career Development and Education through Portland State University.
Her professional interests focus on bringing: nature, physical activity, early intervention methods and fun into programs’ settings. Her current projects include writing and illustrating social skills stories in English and Spanish, and completing her master’s eegree in Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education through Portland State University.
In addition, Mellie serves as a Child Development Associate Professional Development Specialist for the Council for Professional Recognition, and is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPRD). She was recently honored by the United States Department of Agriculture U.S. Forest Service for her contribution in “advancing the Forest Service’s mission” in her work as an Interpretive Field Ranger.
